Delayza is a modern respelling of Daleyza, a name without a traditional meaning that became familiar to Spanish-speaking families in the United States in the 2010s through the reality show Larrymania, which featured singer Larry Hernández's daughter Daleyza; it is often read as a "blend of Dalia and Eliza". Delayza has risen quickly, from number 7114 in 2019 to number 1885 in 2025, its best rank so far.
