Daylin is a modern American name that joins the word day with the popular -lin ending of names like Kaylin and Jaylin; it is also used as a spelling of the Welsh Dylan, "son of the sea". As a girls' name it has no fixed traditional meaning, and most parents simply like its light, "new day" feel. Daylin ranked number 4560 in the United States in 2000, peaked at number 1520 in 2020 and stood at number 2261 among girls in 2025.
