Brix is a modern American short form of Brixton, the London district whose Old English name means "Brixi's stone", the boundary marker of a man called Beorhtsige; parents also hear the word "bricks", a solid, builder's sound. It belongs to the family of punchy, x-ending boys' names like Jax, Knox and Pax. Brix first reached the top 3000 in the United States around 2020, peaked at number 2554 in 2021 and ranks number 3000 in 2025.
