Aubrie is a feminine spelling of Aubrey, the Norman French form of the Germanic Alberich, which means "elf ruler" or "elf power". Aubrey was a boys' name for most of its history, but in the United States it turned decisively female in the 1970s, and spellings like Aubrie, Aubree and Aubrey all rode its rise. Aubrie entered the top 1000 in 2001, peaked at number 325 in 2012 and has fallen back to number 1353 in 2025.
