Aubree is an American spelling of Aubrey, which comes from the Germanic Alberich and means "elf ruler" or "ruler of elves"; in the Middle Ages it was a boys' name, but today it belongs almost entirely to girls. The -ee ending followed the pattern of Kaylee and Bailee. Aubree broke into the top 100 in 2011, peaked at number 53 in 2013 and has fallen sharply since, from number 79 in 2015 to number 489 in 2025.
