Antonia is the feminine form of the Roman family name Antonius, whose meaning is uncertain and traditionally explained as "priceless" or "invaluable". Willa Cather's novel My Antonia, about a Bohemian immigrant girl on the Nebraska prairie, gave the name an American classic of its own. Antonia ranked number 608 in 2001, left the US top 1000 in the 2010s and stands at number 1,279 in 2025.
