Allisson is a double-s spelling of Allison, which comes from Alison, a medieval French and Scottish pet form of Alice and so means "noble" or "of noble kind". This spelling appears mostly in Hispanic families in the United States, where Allison itself has been a long-running favorite. Allisson had a brief burst of popularity, entering the top 1000 in 2008 at its peak of number 420, but it dropped out quickly and ranks number 2751 in 2025.
