Allie is a pet form of Alice, Allison and Alexandra, so it usually carries the meaning "noble" of Alice and Allison, which come from the Germanic Adalheidis. It has been used as a name in its own right for over a century and fits the friendly, nickname style of Ellie and Hallie. In the United States Allie ranked number 391 in 2000, peaked at number 189 in 2010 and stands at number 569 among girls' names in 2025.
