Aislyn is an American spelling of the Irish Aisling, which means "dream" or "vision" and names a genre of 18th-century Irish poetry in which Ireland appears to the poet as a woman. The -lyn ending makes the Irish name easier to pronounce for English speakers, roughly "ASH-lin". Aislyn peaked in the United States at number 1852 in 2015, slipped to number 3577 in 2024 and rebounded to number 2355 in 2025.
