Adrien is the French form of Adrian, from the Latin Hadrianus, "from Hadria", the town in northern Italy that also gave its name to the Adriatic Sea. Actor Adrien Brody, who won an Oscar for The Pianist, gave the spelling a high profile in America. In the United States Adrien ranked number 942 in 2000, peaked at number 696 in 2009 and has slipped to number 1159 in 2025.
