Ace is an English word name from the Latin as, a "unit" or the single pip on a die, which came to mean the highest card and then "the best" at anything. It was a nickname for pilots and athletes long before it became a given name in its own right. Ace entered the US top 1000 in 2006, rose from number 419 in 2015 to a peak of number 152 in 2022 and ranks 164th in 2025.
