Aarya is an Indian spelling of Arya, from the Sanskrit word for "noble" or "honorable", which is used for both girls and boys in India. The doubled A marks the long vowel of the original, while Game of Thrones made the spelling Arya a hit with American parents in general. Aarya entered the US top 1000 at number 994 in 2020, its best rank, and has since eased back to number 1,258 in 2025.
