Ariya is a modern spelling of Aria and Arya, with two overlapping sources: the Italian aria, which means "air" or "melody" and names a solo song in an opera, and the Sanskrit arya, which means "noble". The y-spelling gives it a look of its own between the two. Ariya was rare in 2000, entered the US top 1000 in 2013, peaked at number 519 in 2019 and ranks number 615 in 2025.
