Wisdom is a virtue name taken straight from the English word "wisdom", in the tradition of the Puritan names Prudence and Patience, and it is used for both boys and girls. It fits alongside Justice, Legend and Honor in the current wave of aspirational word names, which is especially strong in African American families. For boys Wisdom made a sudden leap from number 2,673 in 2024 to number 1,251 in 2025, its best rank by far.
