Taleen is an Armenian name taken from Talin, an ancient town in Armenia known for its seventh-century cathedral; in Arabic-speaking families the same name is used too and is usually explained as "soft" or "tender". It is popular among Armenian Americans and in Lebanon and the Gulf states. In the United States Taleen hovered around number 3000 for a decade, reached number 2196 in 2024 and ranks number 2538 in 2025.
