Sia is a short, international name that works in several languages: in Scandinavia and Greece it is a pet form of longer names, above all Anastasia, "resurrection", and in India it is a spelling of Siya, a name of the goddess Sita. Most Americans first heard it through the Australian singer Sia, known for Chandelier. Sia was not recorded in the United States in 2000 and has risen from number 1642 in 2015 to number 1107 in 2025, its best rank so far.
