Shivaay is a modern Indian form of Shiva, the name of the Hindu god of destruction and renewal, which in Sanskrit means "auspicious" or "the auspicious one". The spelling became fashionable after Ajay Devgn's 2016 action film Shivaay, and Indian American parents picked it up almost immediately. Shivaay had fewer than five births in 2000, shot from number 6669 in 2016 to number 2484 in 2017 and ranks number 2928 in 2025 with 43 births.
