Savani is a modern name of uncertain origin that appeared in US birth records only in 2021. Most parents seem to hear Savannah in it, the Taino word for a "treeless plain" that became a southern place name, while Indian families may connect it with Shravani, a name for a girl born in the monsoon month of Shravan. Its climb has been steep: from number 17278 in 2021 to number 3634 in 2023 and number 2348 in 2025, its best rank so far.
