Nisaiah is a modern American coinage that sets a new first syllable in front of Isaiah, the Hebrew prophet name meaning "Yahweh is salvation". It follows the taste for -iah endings that also carries Josiah, Nehemiah and Messiah, and the Ni- start may echo Nehemiah itself. The name had only a handful of births until recently but surged to number 1595 in 2025, its first appearance anywhere near the main rankings.
