Nekhi is a modern American coinage of uncertain origin; it is usually read as an invented name in the style of Nakai and Khai, with the kh spelling that is fashionable in names like Khalil and Nakhi, and it has no established meaning beyond its own sound. It was all but unknown in US birth records until recently. Nekhi jumped from number 7605 in 2024 to number 2203 in 2025, its best rank so far, with 65 boys given the name.
