Luisa is the Spanish, Italian and German feminine form of Luis or Louis, which goes back to the Germanic Hludwig and means "famous warrior". It has been a classic in Spain, Italy and Latin America for centuries and reached a new audience as the strong older sister in the Disney film Encanto. Luisa entered the US top 1000 in 2019, peaked at number 866 in 2024 and ranks 903rd in 2025.
