Lenna is a variant of Lena, a short form of names such as Helena, "torch" or "light", and Magdalena, "woman from Magdala". The doubled n gives it a slightly fuller, vintage look, and it fits with Jenna and Leona. Lenna has risen gently in the United States from around number 3500 in 2015 to a peak of number 1605 in 2024, and ranks number 1761 among girls' names in 2025.
