Kiaan is a modern name of uncertain origin, usually explained either as an Indian spelling of the Persian Kian, "king", or as a Sanskrit-inspired coinage read as "grace of God". It took off in India in the 2010s and was carried to the United States by Indian American families alongside Vihaan and Aarav. Kiaan had fewer than five US births in 2000, entered the top 1000 in 2019, peaked at number 752 in 2021 and ranks 925th in 2025.
