Kenny is the pet form of Kenneth, the English version of two Scottish Gaelic names, Coinneach, "handsome", and Cinaed, "born of fire". Country legend Kenny Rogers and the ever-dying Kenny of South Park have kept the nickname in everyday use. As a name in its own right Kenny ranked number 431 in 2000, fell out of the US top 1000 in 2020 and stands at number 1,271 in 2025.
