Kallum is a spelling of Callum, the Scottish form of the Latin Columba, which means "dove", the bird of peace and of the Holy Spirit. Saint Columba, the Irish missionary who founded the monastery of Iona in the 6th century, is the reason the name has been treasured in Scotland for centuries. American parents are only now catching on: Kallum rose from number 4967 in 2015 to number 1522 in 2025, its best rank so far.
