Jordy is a pet form of Jordan, the river in which Jesus was baptized, whose Hebrew name Yarden means "to flow down" or "descend". The short form is popular in the Netherlands and among Latino families in the United States, where it often stands on its own. Jordy peaked at number 621 in 2001, fell out of the US top 1000 in 2020 and stands at number 1,261 in 2025.
