Hellen is a spelling of Helen, from the Greek Helene, which is usually explained as "torch" or "bright light" and belonged to the woman whose abduction started the Trojan War. The doubled l is common in Brazil and parts of Africa, and it also recalls Hellen, the mythical ancestor of the Greeks, the Hellenes. Hellen moved between number 2077 and number 2400 from 2015 to 2022, climbed to number 1514 in 2023 and ranks 1800 in 2025.
