Heidy is a Spanish-flavored spelling of Heidi, the Swiss short form of Adelheid, a Germanic name meaning "noble kind" or "of noble birth". Johanna Spyri's novel Heidi made the name beloved worldwide, and the y spelling is common in Central America and Mexico. Heidy entered the top 1000 in 2008, peaked at number 809 in 2010 and has since settled at number 1917 in 2025.
