Eidan is a modern spelling that draws on two sources: the Irish Aidan, from the Gaelic Aodhán, "little fire", and the Hebrew Eitan, "strong" or "enduring". American parents mostly use it as a fresh take on the Aiden family of names. Eidan was rare in 2000 and has risen from number 3252 in 2015 to number 1136 in 2025, its highest rank so far.
