Dael is a modern name of uncertain origin, usually read as a variant of Dale, the English word for a "valley", which also survives in the Dutch surname Van Dael; in Latin American families it is often a creative spelling in the style of Yael and Kael. Its single syllable and -el ending give it a biblical ring without a biblical source. In the United States Dael had fewer than five births in 2000, ranked number 6061 in 2015 and has climbed to number 2023 in 2025, its highest rank yet.
