Brewer is an English occupational surname for someone who brewed "beer" or ale, a trade found in every medieval village. It follows Cooper, Mason and Fisher into first-name use and shares its sound with Brooks and Brayden. Brewer was a rare choice for years, but it has climbed fast from number 1623 in 2023 to number 1109 in 2024 and entered the US top 1000 for the first time in 2025 at number 804.
