Aleah is an American spelling in the Aaliyah family, traced to the Arabic Aliya, "exalted" or "sublime", and sometimes to the Hebrew Aliyah, meaning "ascent". The spelling with -eah followed the success of singer Aaliyah around 2000 and reads a little softer than Aliyah. Aleah has been in the US top 1000 every year since 2000, peaked at number 390 in 2011 and ranks number 965 in 2025.
