Alaysia is a modern American name, usually understood as a respelling of Alicia or Alesia, which go back to the Germanic Adalheidis and mean "noble" or "of noble kind"; the ending also recalls the place name Asia. It belongs to the family of Alaysha, Aleesia and Alaysiah spellings that appeared in the 1990s. Alaysia ranked number 1154 in the United States in 2000, entered the top 1000 in 2010, peaked at number 946 in 2012 and has since declined to number 2256 in 2025.
